Tree of Hope 2013 has begun 🎄
Barrhead’s annual Tree of Hope officially kicked off today, Nov. 13, 2013. This year’s goal is $22,500 to help purchase two practical tools used in everyday care at the Barrhead Healthcare Centre.
What your gift supports
-
Vein Viewer (~$15,000) – Uses harmless near-infrared light to project an image of veins onto the skin, making I.V. starts quicker and more comfortable for patients from babies to adults.
-
Jaundice Meter (~$7,400) – A small, non-invasive device that reads bilirubin on a newborn’s forehead or sternum, reducing needle pokes and providing results in seconds.
“These aren’t luxury items—they’re ‘little extras’ that help nurses and physicians do their jobs more smoothly across departments,” says site manager Lois Burletoff.
How giving works this season
The Tree of Hope stands on the west side of the hospital (across from IGA).
-
