At the Barrhead Healthcare Centre Auxiliary, we are proud to be a part of the vital work at the Keir Care Continuing Care Centre, where compassionate care meets community support. Since its opening, the Keir Care Centre has provided a nurturing, professional environment for individuals in need of ongoing care, and through our fundraising efforts, we are dedicated to supporting that level of comfort and care.
Dr. W. R. Keir Continuing Care Centre offers long-term residential care for people who have complex, unpredictable medical needs who require 24 hour on-site registered nurse assessment and / or treatment.
The Keir Care Tuck Shop
Keir Care residents enjoy access to a cozy tuck shop stocked with snacks, soft drinks, throat lozenges, and mints. The Barrhead Healthcare Centre Auxiliary plays a vital role in keeping the shop running smoothly by delivering items directly to the Recreation Department staff.
Popular treats like candy bars, chips, and Cheez Puffs are sourced from **Everyday Values**Barrhead’s Original Dollar Store located on Main Street. Refreshing soft drinks are purchased from the **Barrhead Co-op Grocery Centre**.
Thanks to the dedication of Auxiliary members, the tuck shop remains well-stocked with residents’ favorite goodies, helping to bring small joys to everyday life at Keir Care.

Keir Continuing Care Centre Receives Large Donation
Camp Creek Charity Donations Benefit Barrhead’s Long Term Care
Keir Continuing Care Centre received a large donation in March of 2025. Barrhead Healthcare Centre Auxiliary accepted the donations from the remnants of the Camp Creek Community Hall Association. The association requested that the funds be used to up date the dining hall at Keir Care and communal seating area for residents and their guests.
BHCA and Keir Care look forward to making the much needed updates to the 46 year old facility.

There are several ways to contribute:

Volunteer your time at fundraising activities or events hosted by the Barrhead Auxiliary.
