Comfort for Our Nurses: Barrhead Auxiliary Upgrades Nurses Lounge
When you care for others around the clock, even a few minutes of rest can make all the difference.
This week, the Barrhead Healthcare Centre Auxiliary gave our nurses a comfort upgrade they truly deserve. We purchased two Lazyboy recliners and a loveseat from Comfort Corner in Barrhead, replacing the decades-old sectional that had been hanging on — literally — by being pushed against the wall to keep it upright.
Before: Worn Out and Well Past Its Shift
The old sectional in the Nurses’ Lounge had seen years of service. It was worn, unstable, and so broken that the only way to keep the middle section from collapsing was to wedge it against the wall. Our nurses, who spend long hours on their feet, deserved better.
Delivery Day Excitement
Yesterday, the Comfort Corner delivery truck pulled up to the Barrhead Healthcare Centre with brand-new Lazyboy recliners and a loveseat. The delivery team carried in the new furniture and took the old sectional away in one smooth operation.
Within minutes, the Nurses’ Lounge was transformed — from tired and worn to fresh and inviting.
Relaxation, Reclined
The reaction from the nursing staff was instant smiles. This is the space where they can take a quick break, put their feet up, and recharge before heading back to care for patients. Nursing is physically and emotionally demanding — these moments of rest help them keep giving their best.
