Barrhead Healthcare Centre Auxiliary – Who We Are
Nearly 100 years ago, in the spirited town of Barrhead, a band of remarkable women rolled up their sleeves, buttoned their uniform collars, and formed what would become a community cornerstone: the Barrhead Healthcare Centre Auxiliary.
These weren’t your average tea-party ladies (although they could make a mean cup). They were innovators, volunteers, fundraisers — and total powerhouses. They stepped up when times were tough, and today, we carry on their mission with the same grit (and maybe just a little more glitter).
And stay tuned — we’ll be unveiling “the rest of the story” next year. You won’t want to miss the tales of gowns, gurneys, and grassroots giving!
Our Mission
To provide care and support to Barrhead and community patients.
That’s our official mission statement — short, sweet, and straight to the heart. But if we had a little more billboard space, we’d add:
“We’re a 100% volunteer-powered, CRA-registered charity that raises funds and supports local healthcare programs where they matter most — right here at home.”
Whether it’s improving hospital equipment, funding transportation for cancer patients, or adding a sprinkle of comfort to long-term care, our mission is to make life a little easier (and a lot more compassionate) for patients, families, and the heroes who care for them.
