The Barrhead & District Chamber of Commerce’s Festival of Trees / Christmas Gala auction rallied the community and raised $33,315.34 for local causes. Referring to the Barrhead Leader (Dec. 10, 2013), proceeds supported Barrhead FCSS, Sparrow’s Hope, Ripple Connection, the Tree of Hope, and the new pool—with additional support to 4-H clubs for their scholarship fund in recognition of their volunteer service at the gala.

Why this matters for Tree of Hope

That same season, Tree of Hope was working toward two practical, everyday care tools at the hospital:

  • Vein Viewer (~$15,000) – near-infrared guidance to make IV starts quicker and more comfortable.

  • Non-invasive Jaundice Meter (~$7,400) – gentle newborn bilirubin checks without needle pokes.

Festival of Trees proceeds helped push that effort forward, turning holiday spirit into front-line comfort for patients and families.

Archive note: The Leader article reports the total event amount and list of recipients, but doesn’t itemize how the $33,315.34 was split among them. We’ll append verified figures if records surface.
