Celebrating the 2025 Dr. B. Bose Nursing Scholarship Recipients

On August 18, 2025, the Auxiliary proudly awarded the Dr. B. Bose Nursing Scholarship 2025 to three remarkable young women who are already making a difference in the lives of others.

• Kamryn Wood – a 2021 graduate of Barrhead Composite High School (BCHS) and Fort Assiniboine native. She is entering her second year in the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program at Northern Lakes College.

• Faith Boss – a 2022 BCHS graduate. She is now in her fourth year of the Bachelor of Nursing Science program at Red Deer Polytechnic.

• Sunny Kryger – a BCHS graduate and dedicated Keir Care employee. She continues to advance in her nursing studies. Although Sunny could not attend the ceremony, she received her scholarship separately.

Together, Kamryn, Faith, and Sunny showcase the compassion, commitment, and bright future of healthcare in our community.

Honoring the Dr. B. Bose Nursing Scholarship 2025 – A Legacy of Care and Education 

This scholarship program exists thanks to a $1.3 million endowment from Dr. Bireswar Bose, a much-loved physician who served Barrhead for more than 30 years. Dr. Bose cared deeply about both nursing and education. Therefore, this scholarship stands as a fitting tribute to his legacy.

Each year, the Auxiliary distributes up to $10,000 in scholarships to BCHS graduates enrolled in post-secondary nursing programs who have completed at least one year of studies. In addition, the number and value of awards vary annually depending on the applicants. This flexibility ensures that as many deserving students as possible receive support.

The Heart Behind the Scholarship 💚

Scholarships do more than provide financial assistance. They lift burdens and open doors. For Kamryn, Faith, and Sunny, this recognition affirms their dedication and encourages them to continue their education with confidence.

As one recipient shared: “This scholarship is more than just financial help — it’s encouragement to keep going, to know my community believes in me.”

Clearly, that spirit of encouragement reflects the Auxiliary’s mission: supporting healthcare, uplifting our community, and investing in the future.
