The Barrhead Healthcare Centre Auxiliary (BHCA) is a trusted community charity supporting local healthcare, patient care and staff wellness at the Barrhead Healthcare Centre, the Barrhead Community Cancer Centre, and the Dr. W. R. Keir Continuing Care Centre.
Programs and Services In Support of Local Healthcare
Barrhead Auxiliary members are dedicated volunteers and fundraisers who work year-round to provide tangible improvements—from garden spaces and ride programs to scholarship support and comfort items. Every dollar raised stays in our community, supporting local healthcare by benefiting patients, families, and healthcare workers.
From managing bequests and community gifts to overseeing essential programs like the Road to Home ride share and the Tuck Shop, the Auxiliary ensures every donation has a lasting local effect.

ROAD TO HOME
In 2020, the Barrhead Community Cancer Centre received a generous bequest from Dr. Bireswar Bose. With input from the Alberta Cancer Foundation, clinic staff, and patients, the Road to Home program was born.
This ride-share initiative provides transportation to cancer patients receiving care at the Barrhead clinic and beyond. The Auxiliary handles coordination, outreach, and fundraising to keep the program strong.
